Scholarship Applications
Every year, Moon Lake Electric Association is honored to award thousands of dollars in educational assistance to graduating seniors in our service territory. Scholarships can be used at any accredited college, trade school apprenticeship, or vocational technical school.
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Must be a high school senior
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must have taken the ACT or similar test
- Applicant, their parents, or legal guardians must be members of Moon Lake Electric Association
Candidates will be evaluated by our scholarship committee, based on their merits and financial need. If necessary, a personal interview with the candidate will be scheduled after the submission deadline.
Scholarship Applications
General Scholarship
This scholarship is for students going into any career field
Candidates must provide the following to apply:
- A high school transcript, showing at least a 3.0 GPA and ACT score
- A passport-style photograph
- Three personal letters of recommendation from either school officials, community/church leaders, or other non-family references
Energized Scholarship
This scholarship is for students going into a career related to the electrical utility industry (i.e. linemen school, electrical engineering, accounting, information technology, marketing, etc.)
Candidates must provide the following to apply:
- All documentation for the General Scholarship
- A one page, single-spaced essay* on why non-intermittent fuel sources, such as hydroelectric power, are important in generating electricity
*Any essay generated by A.I. will not be accepted and the applicant will be disqualified
